Finally made the trek out for Whisky School a couple of weeks ago and McCormack's did not disappoint! I've been frequenting the Fan location since I first moved to Richmond and am always impressed but the Big Whisky Grill selection and the ridiculously gorgeous bar absolutely blew me away! The deal with Whisky School is you order from a streamlined, special food menu and Mac, the owner, chooses two to three tastings to accompany your meal. The pours are very generous! Mac then proceeds to totally nerd out on some whisky knowledge, dropping history about the distilleries and going in depth about the various flavor profiles. The food is also pretty delicious! I ordered the meatloaf with chorizo which really hit the spot. My friend had the brisket which was tender and had a great smoky flavor. The collard greens were some of the best I had! Tuesday night whisky school is a great date night excursion! But go quickly because they will be moving at the beginning of the year and may take a minute to get back rocking and rolling!

I stopped by Regency for the first time in years while visiting friends in Richmond and decided to try out McCormack's. At first, I thought they were closed as it was empty. It was a Wednesday night during the first week of school so I imagine that had a lot to do with it. The server was very nice and helpful. I enjoyed a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The sweet potato fries were perfectly crispy-just how I like them. They gave me a very generous portion of sweet potato fries, and it was impossible to finish. I had a cider that was okay, but I would have preferred a glass of rosé (they didn't have on the wine list). They definitely had a lot of whiskey as indicated by the name:) The server told me about the Whiskey tasting on Tuesdays and that sounds like something that I would like to return for!

I strongly recommend McCormack's for dinner but especially for events. Mac is a professional who take a lot of pride in giving his clients the best experience. From food to planning, he really thought of it all. Mac was able to accommodate my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner while handling 2 other private parties that evening. Had he not told us, I wouldn't have even known there were other parties there that night. Not only was the space phenomenal but every single bit of the food was next level. He worked with us to give us an event that was high quality and right on budget. All night long I heard compliments from attendees on the food but also Mac's whisky knowledge and willingness to share information. It made for a fun atmosphere and unforgettable evening.

I could not say enough good things about this place from interior to crafted cocktails, amazing selection and knowledgeable staff! Even their Appetizers and hors d'oeuvres are uniquely thought out Daniel it's a very special care of our party celebrating a birthday! They even have classes on Tuesday evenings which we hope to be able to attend If you have not been here you are missing out

What the heck took me so long to try this place?! Whatever the reason, I'm kicking myself. I literally had the best grilled cheese of my life here, prefaced by delicious fried brussel sprout leaves. The grilled cheese had the perfect pull of cheese stringiness, sauteed mushrooms, onions, pesto, oven dried tomatoes and house cured bacon. My lunch mate had the Cuban which was a true winner. It was large enough to feed an army, but he managed all on his own (save for a bite or three from me). I had regular fries and he had the sweet potato fries - both were very satisfying. In the true spirit of gluttony, we ended the meal with fried Oreos. I insisted I wouldn't eat a single bite, but finished at least two by myself. Imagine a funnel cake with melted chocolate inside. Aiii yaii yaiiii. Service, atmosphere and food were phenomenal. My fella asked for a drink recommendation and received exactly the libation he was seeking. We'll have to go back a thousand times to try everything appealing on the menu. (Goals!) Tons of vegetarian options too!

Food was delicious. They are located in a mall so there is plenty of parking avaibale. The whisky bar is too the left once you walk in and it is impressive. Whisky all the way to the ceiling. They have whiskey menus at the tables and there is probably at least 8 pages of options. The food was delicious. Service was great. Super polite and accommodating. I was there with a large group and they made sure everyone was happy. The shrimp and grits might have been the best I've ever had. A definite must stop if you are in the area.
